Breeding Soundness Examination (BSE)
A BSE should be conducted 2 to 6 weeks prior to the breeding season.
A BSE cannot guarantee fertility, but it can identify bulls having obvious problems that may impair their subsequent reproductive performance.
Approximately 8 to 10 % of all yearling bulls have such a problem.
A conventional BSE cannot detect bulls with low libido (sex drive).
