The Ejaculate

• The ejaculate contains:

  • Spermatozoa
  • Seminal fluids

• Acceptable ejaculate characteristics:

  • 4 to 12 billion sperm cells
  • 5 to 12 ml
  • 60 to 90% motile cells
  • ᡾% normal cells

• Semen characteristics may vary with:

  • Age, health, frequency of ejaculation and other factors.
