Burt Rutherford has nearly 30 years’ experience communicating about beef industry issues. A Colorado native and graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in agricultural journalism, he now works from his home base in Amarillo, TX, in the heart of cattle feeding country. He worked as communications director for the North American Limousin Foundation and editor of the Western Livestock Journal before spending 21 years as communications director for the Texas Cattle Feeders Association.

Dr. Ron Lemenager is the Extension Beef Specialist in the Department of Animal Sciences at Purdue University, W. Lafayette, Indiana.  He was raised on a livestock and grain farm before receiving his B.S. degree from the University of Illinois (Animal Science,1973) and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Oklahoma State University (Beef Nutrition; 1975, 1977).  “Dr. Ron” joined the Department of Animal Sciences at Purdue in 1977 with responsibilities in beef cattle research, teaching and extension focused on nutrition, nutrition x reproduction interaction, management, and animal handling.
